AWS re:Invent 2016 CENTRAL

Since five years ago, AWS re:Invent is the unique conference hub where people can find the latest about cloud technology. This is an annual event that offers the attendees the opportunity to participate in the new technological pavilions, and also get helped from AWS engineers and product leaders. Andy Jassy, the CEO of AWS said that “AWS is the most robust, fully featured technology Infrastructure platform and re:Invent is a different type of technology conference”. The event took place in Las Vegas and there were more than 32,000 attendees.

Through this event, AWS had made some announcements about what is coming for the cloud revolution in 2017. Amazon outlined these new services and here are some of them.

• Amazon recognition.
  It is for the detection of objects, scenes and faces in images.
• Amazon Lex.
  It is the perfect tool for building a Bot.
• Amazon Polly.
  It is a service that turns text into lifelike speech.
• Elastic GPU.
  It is a service that attach low-cost graphics acceleration.
• AWS Greengrass.
  It is a software that lets you run local compute, messaging and data caching for connected devices.
• AWS Snowball Edge.
  It collects, analyzes and more petabyte-scale data sets.
• Amazon Aurora
  It is the MySQL-compatible database with the security, availability, and reliability of commercial databases at 1/10th the cost.
• Amazon Ligthsail
  It is designed to be the easiest way to launch and manage simple virtual private servers.
• Amazon Athena
  It is a service that makes easier to analyze data in Amazon S3 using standard SQL.
• AWS Snowmobile
  It is a new service for Exabyte-scale data transfer.

In 2014 during the AWS re:Invent Central, the Cloud was announced as “the new normal”, in 2015 as “the control over your own destiny” and this year it was said that using AWS will make you feel like you have been given Super Powers.
